British Photo Project

I would like to re-post this to call attention to a project to photograph all of Britain and Ireland. This includes Scotland, you can start at a place and see other photos taken nearby. Of course, the new version of www.maps.google.com has a very nice feature of images from nearby any given place and Britain is very well-covered.

The site contains maps and has a variety of ways to search. Britain is a very photogenic country and the quality of the photography is excellent.

The site of the project is http://www.geograph.org.uk/

Here are links to a few selected photos of the area where I was born. I used to walk these roads pondering what the future held and what I might be able to accomplish. Who could have imagined that there would someday be a thing called a blog and that I would be showing the world photos of the places where I was walking?

There are two villages, English Bicknor and Welsh Bicknor. Both are actually in England. Welsh Bicknor was founded years ago by workers from nearby Wales, coming to work in local industry.

Here are some photos of my birth village of Lydbrook:

Now, let's continue the walk. I am trying to post these photos in a sequential order by direction, although I am not completely succeeding.
