Suella Braverman was fired as Home Secretary for making various controversial statements, most recently that London Police were biased toward Pro-Palestine demonstrations, and for writing a newspaper article without clearing it with the government first.
She did this on purpose. She wanted to get fired. Getting fired by an unpopular government is considered as a badge of honor (sorry, honour) when the next administration comes in. Remember that she got forced out as Home Secretary by the previous administration, Liz Truss, as well. That set her up to be Home Secretary in this administration.
She is setting herself up for the future, maybe as Prime Minister.
Britain deserves credit for having a prime minister from an Indian family and the mayor of London from a Pakistani family. It is a progressive society and it always has been. The greatest thing that ever happened to women's rights is Queen Victoria. In the far reaches of imagination we might be able to see Germany with a chancellor from a Turkish family. But can you imagine France or Italy with a national leader, or mayor of the capital city, from an Arab or African family?
