News Links For This Week

This week is the fiftieth anniversary of the death of Spain's Francisco Franco. The civil war that he led brought in other countries on both sides and it became a proving ground for the weapons and tactics that would soon be put to use in the Second World War. Here is a link to it.

There has been double concern about the possible economic impact of AI. The first concern is about millions of jobs being eliminated by AI. The second concern is that the rush of investors to AI might result in an economic bubble that will burst. Why don't we review my concept of the Fundamental Importance of different sectors of the economy. Economic bubbles form when there is over investment in a sector, out of proportion to it's Fundamental Importance.

This week was Veterans Day, Remembrance Day or, Armistice Day. This is in commemoration of the end of the First World War, November 11. The end of the First World War is actually not very well understood and this would be a good time to review it.
