Armaments spending has been greatly increasing all across the world. The world is preparing for war. Also remember that, if there should be an economic downturn, military spending is a ready way to "get the economy rolling again".
The world seems to value democracy. But yet the Antichrist will be the greatest dictator that the world has ever seen. This can only mean that democracy will have to decline. There has been a steady decline in democracy in recent years and the policies of Donald Trump are accelerating the decline of democracy, especially since the world looked to America as a model of democracy.
Unless an old Pope is chosen, the next Pope will almost certainly play a major role in the Apocalypse.
