India's New Golden Age

Zohran Mamdani, the newly elected mayor of New York City, was born in Uganda but both of his parents are Indian.

This is just the latest in the influence that India has on the world. Britain has had a prime minister with a similar story, involving India and Uganda, although he was born in Britain. America has had a vice-president, and almost president, who was half-Indian, so much of Silicon Valley is owned or run by Indians, Indian food is by far the predominant ethnic food in my hometown. India is now the most populous nation on earth.

I have long recognized what is happening, and have written about it here. It is a matter of history on a global scale. India has entered a golden age about every four hundred years, and now the New Golden Age has arrived.

Pakistan and Bangladesh were part of India until 1947, and so they are part of this Golden Age too. The mayor of London has Pakistani roots.

I consider India's New Golden Age to have begun on September 24, 2014. This is when the Mangalyaan spacecraft entered Mars orbit. Missions to Mars have a high casualty rate and this made India the first nation to achieve a successful Mars mission on it's first attempt.

Here is a link to the compound posting, "India And The West". The final section is about the New Golden Age.

India's flag seems to also represent it's space program, and it is one of the best examples of the power of symbolism. Image from the Wikipedia article "Flag of India".

The green at the bottom represents the earth. The Ashoka Chakra circle represents the moon and the saffron at the top represents Mars, as it is close to the color of Mars. Image from the Wikipedia article "Mars".

Notice that the circle on the flag looks, not just like the moon but that we are looking down at one of the poles of the moon. This symbolism is what moved India to send spacecraft first to the moon, concentrating on the region of it's south pole, and then to Mars.
