A French politician has demanded that America return the Statue of Liberty, which was a gift from post-revolutionary France, due to the conduct of Donald Trump. But look at what we have seen in the posting "America And The Modern World Explained By Way Of Paris", December 2015. I know that I keep referring to that posting but it is impossible to understand the modern world without it.

I wrote it on a computer, so that it had links to the images. I have replaced the links with images in the posting, which might make it a little bit easier to read.

We saw that the King and Queen of France, which were overthrown and guillotined in the revolution of 1789, had been America's first allies, and helped it to gain independence. America's Republican Party, which is a misnomer, is actually the continuation of this Bourbon Dynasty. 

You can see the relationship to the French Revolution in that the signature event of the French Revolution was the Storming of the Bastille. Each reenactment of the French Revolution has some corresponding "storming" of some establishment associated with the old order. In the October (Russian) Revolution it was the Storming of the Winter Palace and in the Iranian Revolution it was the Storming of the U.S. Embassy. The corresponding storming of the Donald Trump Revolution is that of the Capitol on January 6. Except that it was done in reverse in that it was the side of the king that was doing the storming.

The Democratic side of America, in contrast, represents post-revolutionary France. This is when the Statue of Liberty was given to America and we saw in the posting how the "Democrat Heartland" of America is centered around the statue while the "Republican Heartland" closely corresponds to the territory of the Louisiana Purchase, which is named for the French kings.

This is the historical reason for demanding the return of the Statue of Liberty.

Why do people announce that there is going to be a recession? A recession is not like a storm. A recession is self-fulfilling. Warnings of a pending recession leads people to cut back on spending and then the lack of consumer spending is what causes the recession.
