The Religious Center Of Wales

St. David is the patron saint of Wales. He started a monastery and St. David's Cathedral was later built on the site. This was considered as an important site for pilgrimage. The local community, St. David's, has less than two thousand people. But a city is defined in Britain as the site of a cathedral. So it must be considered as a city.

These seven images, from Google Street View, are of the cathedral.

These two images of the gatehouse are from Google Street View.

The former Bishop's Palace is adjacent to the cathedral. Wales has so many sites like this, particularly castles, that it impossible to maintain them all and the palace is now ruins. Three images from Google Street View.

The following two images, from Google Street View, are of the surrounding community of St. David's, which has the status of a city.
