About every few years some incident happens between India and Pakistan that brings the two countries close to war. But there is more than local politics at work. This is a matter of global history. Whenever there is a troublesome border, there is virtually always a long history behind it.
We saw in the posting "Understanding The World In Terms Of The South And West And The North And East" that the world can be divided into two halves that operate differently. The operation of each half is ultimately based on religion. The South And West is based on the monotheistic religions, primarily Christianity and Islam. The North And East is based on the eastern religions, primarily Hinduism and Buddhism. In the North And East, mostly the same nations have existed since ancient times. While in the South And West, new nations come into existence with new ideas.
The border between India and Pakistan is far more than just the border between the two countries. As we saw in that posting, it is also where the two halves of the world meet. This explains the conflict.
