New Japanese Prime Minister

"The country's first woman prime minister is an ultraconservative". If that sounds familiar, the new Japanese Prime Minister has stated that she is an admirer of Margaret Thatcher. 

But let's remember that politics doesn't require an "Iron Lady" with an iron will. I think the best career to precede politics is being a pilot. The pilot continuously makes fine adjustments to keep the aircraft in balance. Thatcher, like Ronald Reagan later in America, started off on the right course. Their very conservative policies were necessary to get the rampant inflation of the late 1970s under control. Their fault was in continuing those policies after the problem had been resolved.
