I have been stating it here for quite some time. India has had four golden ages in it's history and a new golden age typically begins approximately four hundred years after the end of the last one.
The First Golden Age was the Mauryan Empire. Fourth to Second Centuries BC.
The Second Golden Age was the Gupta Empire. Fourth to Sixth Centuries.
The Third Golden Age was the Chola Empire. Ninth to Thirteenth Centuries.
The Fourth Golden Age was the Mughal Empire. Sixteenth to early Eighteenth Centuries as a great power. This ended with the emperor Aurengzeb.
In 2014, India became the first nation to launch a successful Mars mission on it's first attempt. I consider that as the beginning of the Fifth Golden Age. Coincidentally, Narendra Modi came to power in that same year.
We seem to be hearing about India and Indians everywhere. That is because of the golden age. In the coming weeks we will be seeing India and it's past golden ages and that will give us a perspective on the new golden age.
