Listing Of Special Visits

Aside from the weekly visits to countries and cities across the world there has also been some "Special Visits". These are visits to specific places that may involve a theory or observation, or be a visit in time to a certain era.

"The Would Have Been Nation Of Westland" is a visit to America's "Old West", what it was all about and how it might have been a separate country.

"Esau And The Temple Mount" is about the Temple Mount, in Jerusalem, that is holy to three religions and is almost certainly the most valuable piece of real estate in the world.

"The Underground Orion Correlation Theory" is a visit to the three Pyramids of Giza, now located at the city of Cairo. It has long been noticed that the arrangement of the pyramids mirrors the stars in the Belt of Orion, and this posting explains why.

"Remembering The Pahlavi Dynasty" is a visit to the time of Iran's last shah, which ended in the revolution of 1979.

"When The Moors Ruled Spain" goes back to the centuries when the Iberian Peninsula was ruled by Moors from north Africa.

"The Waldorf Astoria" is about the two legendary hotels with the restaurants and ballrooms that were the center of upper class social life in New York City. The two hotels were ultimately demolished and the Empire State Building was built on the site, which only adds to their legend.

"Hampton Court Palace And The King James Bible" revisits the conference that took place at Hampton Court Palace that commissioned what would become known as the King James Version of the Bible. This certainly affected the English language more than anything else. King James was the first of the House of Stuart, which began the personal union between England and Scotland. There are many translations of the Bible available today, without the "thee" and "thou" of 1611, but there is still a movement in Christianity that will only use the King James Version.

"Along London's Royal Route" is the former processional route for a newly-crowned monarch. It was last used by Charles II in the Seventeenth Century. I would like to revive the use of it, except to the present Buckingham Palace instead of the former Whitehall Palace.

"The Tomb Of The Patriarchs" is about the site where the immediate descendants of Abraham are buried. These are the famous Patriarchs of the Old Testament. But Rachel, and her son Joseph, are not buried there, and there is a reason for that.

"Japan's Window On The World" is about the time when Japan, ruled by the Tokugawa Shogunate, was a closed society and the port of Nagasaki was where limited trade was carried on with the outside world.
