Symbolism In Buffalo

We saw how subtle but powerful symbolism can be in "The Power Of Symbolism", March 2024. I wonder if symbolism has helped to support Buffalo's ever-growing Bangladeshi community.

Bangladeshis have been moving upstate from New York City because it is less expensive. But why is it so focused on Buffalo so that cities like Rochester and Syracuse don't have comparable Bangladeshi communities?

I have wondered if subtle symbolism is at work, even if no one is consciously aware of it. The sports teams at Buffalo State are called the Bengals and the mascot is a Bengal tiger.

The name of Bangladesh means "Bengal Nation" and the majority language is Bengali.

This is a powerful force that we do not have to be consciously aware of. It doesn't matter that few Bangladeshis attend Buffalo State and the Bangladeshi community is centered on the other side of the city.
